Rubicon Trail Update

RUBICON TRAIL UPDATE: WATER QUALITY BOARD MEETS - RUBICON STAYS OPEN

SACRAMENTO, CA (April 27) — The Rubicon Trail is open and OHV recreation is sustained on this icon of four-wheeling, according to the Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF) and Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR). The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) voted unanimously to issue a Cleanup and Abatement Order (CAO) to El Dorado County and the Eldorado National Forest for the world-famous Rubicon Trail that sustains motorized recreation while enhancing stewardship of the trail. Not only did the Board enact an order that recreationists can live with, but they also went so far as to praise the efforts of the volunteers for addressing trail issues ... read more here on BlueRibbon's Home Page

BlueRibbon Obtains Official Status for CFC Donations

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

For a number of years, pro-access government employees have strongly urged the BlueRibbon Coalition to obtain official status in the Combined Federal Campaign Charity List. Today that vision was realized when the BRC announced that the United States Office Of Personnel Management has granted the aforementioned status. BRC will be listed under the National/International Independent Organizations list for charitable donations.

Many BRC supporters in the federal land agencies and our military will want to donate to its effort to champion good stewardship of public lands. BRC will be listed as: 11402 BlueRibbon Coalition.

Well done, BlueRibbon.

Electric Dirt Bikes?

Electric motocross? Dirt bikes running on electricity? Noise and sound – what's the difference? And what the possibility of an all-electric OHV park?

Well, if these things wrap your motor windings, read The General's Blog (Don Amador) to learn more. It's awesome – and what a new twist to our outdoor sports: http://thegeneralsrecreationden.blogspot.com/

Jeep Netting from a BlueRibbon Supporter

If you're a Jeep owner and want to protect your precious (or dangerous if flying around) cargo in the back seat, check out this netting I just installed in our Jeep from Safari Straps. Besides being cool stuff and well made, the makers of this netting are supporting BlueRibbon Coalition (http://www.sharetrails.org/) in a big way.

I have a short write up and install pics here:
Please remember, whatever you ride, to buy from folks like these who are supporting our land use and access efforts.
Thanks, Del
